Top 5 Movies of 2010

I haven't seen every movie released in 2010. I haven't even seen close to half. However, I usually see the movies that I think are going to be good, so my list of the best movies of last year is a pretty good assessment.

Starting with Number 5...

5. Shutter Island: This looked like it'd be a great movie, and I was right. Great direction from Martin Scorcese, whose never made a bad movie in his life. Great acting from Leo, who will probably never make a bad movie again in his life. A thriller that will keep you guessing.

 4. The Book of Eli: I thought this movie was going to be pretty wack, despite the solid cast. However, it kept me interested throughout with a well-developed and unique plot, with great performances by Denzel and Gary Oldman.

3. The Fighter: Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, two of the great Sav actors of our time, team up to play real-life boxing brothers from Massachusetts. This movie is filled with realistic boxing scenes, as well as excellent performances, in particular from Bale who plays Dickey Ecklund, a washed up fighter who is addicted to crack.

 2. Inception: This is might be the most original movie I've ever seen, as well as the most confusing and thought provoking. Though it is hard very to understand, if you keep up with it you will be rewarded. Even if you have no idea what's going on, you can still appreciate the special effects and the acting.

 1. The Town: Even if I had seen every movie this year, I am pretty confident this would still be at the top of my list. Ben Affleck directs and stars in a gem of a film about crime in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Worst Movie of the Year: Grown Ups. Hands down.
