A Sav is someone who stands out in his actions that show that he is fearless, ballsy, competent, and in simple terms just an every day Savage. A savage should not have to ask to be a Sav.

Nucky Thompson; Bringing the Sav Mentality to the Boardwalk
It wasn’t too long ago when Steve Buscemi was ordering gumballs and Oreos pizza, and biting the mailman’s hand for “casting a spell on him” in a small town in New Hampshire. Then given the name “crazy eyes,” he was far from a sav. Luckily for him and every other aspiring sav, Martin Scorsese has revamped his character into the biggest savage this side of the Mississippi. Let’s be honest Nucky Thompson has been an absolute boss in the new HBO hit “Boardwalk Empire.” This guy does not put up with any shit what so ever, and Margaret Schroeder? The Irish mistress?
I’ll be first to admit when I first saw Schroeder (Kelly Macdonald) did not think much. But I figured hey Nuck’s tagging that so I’ll do some more research. After further research I’ve came to the conclusion that she is a diamond (O’Coin) in the rough. Point being Nuck can do whatever the hell he wants and it will still be respected by many. Absolute Savage. Fact.
